Question

Anyone know how to keep crochet hooks from being "sticky"? I tried rubbing some baby powder on them, that didn't work, so thought I'd google it, and all I could find was: buy hooks made with bamboo, or some other hooks made by LionBrand. No me gusta la sticky!!!

  1. Alcohol or nail polish remover. I use a mixture of dawn, baking soda and vinegar and then after dry, I spray with a very light coat of Pam or use a paper towel and wipe down with mineral oil to make "slick" again.

  2. Thanks! I'll give it a try! If that doesn't work, then maybe I need to keep my own fingers cleaner! hahaha! j/k

  3. It's not your hands it is the acrylic. LOL Natural fibers have "their" own oil, acrylic does not. I use acrylics alot too especially making stuff for kids (it is washable) but find my needles/hooks get gunky!!!
